NPP accused Congress, NC & BJP for neglecting Refugees of 1947, 1965, 1971 in Jammu

Addressing a public massive rally in Kerian and Gandyal (Kathua Distt.), Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of JKNPP and Member of National Integration Council made a scathing attack on the leadership of the national parties namely, Congress, BJP and National Conference for playing fraud with the people of Jammu Pradesh particularly the refugees of Pakistan, refugees of POK and the refugees from Chhamb and Deva-Batala who have been living a tragic life for the past 60 years. He said that the Panthers Party was formed in J&K to ensure that civil and political rights shall be ensured to the refugees from Pakistan (approximately 65000) who have not been given citizenship rights or right to vote even though three generations have been living in J&K. Besides, the refugees from POK (about 11 lacs) have not been given the refugee status nor they have been settled in 60 years by the NC-Congress combine. NPP Supremo mocked at BJP leaders who have been shedding crocodile tears for years but when they came to power in the Centre, the BJP followed the foot-sets of the Congress. It was BJP government in the Centre which inducted grandson of Sheikh Abdullah as a Central Minister.

Prof. Bhim Singh accused Congress for the grand betrayal of the people of Jammu. He pointed out that the Congress Govt. spent Rs. 5000 crores to build a railway tunnel from Qazigund to Banihal has no railway connection with the rest of the country. The Congress Govt. could not build a bridge to connect the Kerian-Gandyal with Kathua and did not care to spend Rs.10 crores for a bridge in Jathana where people have been living in utter disgrace and in wretched condition for 60 years. Kerian-Gandyal an area of 1600 acres is situated on the border of Punjab and is divided from Kathua District by the Ravi River to reach Kerian-Gandyal, the people have to cross over to the Punjab.

Other Panthers Party leaders who addressed the rally included Ms. Anita Thakur, General Secretary-JKNPP, Mr. Faqir Nath, ex-MLA & Provincial President, Mr. Ravinder Pathana, Distt. President, Kathua, Mr. Shanker Das Sarpanch & Secretary of Panchayat Empowerment Committee.
