Chamel Singh’s widow appeals Bhim Singh for justice

Widow of Chamel Singh urged Prof. Bhim Singh, Sr. Advocate & world fame human rights activist for his intervention to ensure justice to the family of Chamel Singh, a resident of border village Pargwal, Jammu who died due to the assault by prison staff where he was undergoing sentence in Lakhpat Jail, Lahore. Chamel Singh was taken from jail to hospital in Lahore (Pakistan) where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.

The family members of Chamel Singh called on the senior leaders of the Panthers Party and requested them for support. They appealed Prof. Bhim Singh, who is presently in New Delhi to take up the case in Pakistan Supreme Court to bring the culprits to justice.

In the meantime, Prof. Bhim Singh dashed an urgent letter to Shri Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Pakistan for the grant of visa to visit Pakistan to represent Chamel Singh’s family before the Judicial Commission which was reportedly appointed by the Govt. of Pakistan two days’ back. Prof. Bhim Singh said that he is ready to visit Pakistan in case necessary permission is granted by the Govt. of Pakistan.
