The civil liberties defenders condemned this action as blatant exercise of the authoritarian attitude of the government and demanded a compensation of Rs.50 lacs for the damages caused to the properties including furniture, text-books, court files, albums, refrigerators, computers and other material including bed-cuisine and mattresses. The invading police party did not spare even the photos of the freedom struggle like Sr. Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chander Bose, Lal Lajpat Rai, Asfaqullah Khan, Rani Jhansi, Khudi Ram Bose and several others martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle against the British Empire.  The photographs of former Prime Ministers like Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Sr. Ballabhbhai Patel were not spared.
