NPP Supremo expresses solidarity with students of Jammu Pradesh in their fight for justice

Prof.Bhim Singh, Supremo of National Panthers Party & Executive Chairman of State Legal Aid Committee has expressed solidarity with the students of Jammu Pradesh colleges who have been discriminated and ignored by the BJP-PDP government which has not cared to provide human reasonable and justified facilities like drinking water, transportation, medical care and even adequate teaching staff with the result that the teaching standards in all the colleges in Jammu Pradesh may they be situated in Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Udhampur, Rajouri, Reasi, Poonch or in Kathua.

          Prof.Bhim Singh warned the J&K government against the step-motherly treatment being given to the students. He congratulated the National Panthers Party Students Union in Ramban District who demonstrated today closing the National Highway for nearly two hours this afternoon in demand of their genuine and justified demands asking government to provide transport facilities to reach college, provide drinking water in the college, ensure playgrounds for the students and rest room for the girl students in the college. The students took a strong procession from the college to the National Highway and jammed national transport for hours. The student organizations included NPSU, NSUI, ABVP, NSF, AISF under the leadership of Panthers Students Union, Ramban. College President Mr. Surender Singh, NPSU, Shri Ashish, Vice President-NPSU, Ms. Shashi Kumari-NPSU, Tabbusum, Sr. Member-NPSU, Mr. Mangal Singh Katoch, Distt. President-NPSU, Ramban, Mr. Narender Singh Manhas,Working President, Mr. Wasim Bhat, General Secretary, Mr. Wiqar Wani, Sr. Executive Member-NPSU are present on the occasion. District administration Ramban intervened and assured the protesting students their demands shall be fulfilled within one week.

          The students were also demanding the playground facilities which has not been provided to the college students right from the beginning. The joint students movement has given a call to the students of all other colleges in Jammu Pradesh to join the movement.

          In the meantime the NPSU, J&K headed by Mr. Virender Thakur has given a call to the student representatives, all groups and organizations from all colleges in Jammu Pradesh to meet in the first week of January at Jammu to work out a joint action plan to ensure that the students are provided with their genuine requirements in all the colleges functioning in Jammu Pradesh within one month.

          Prof.Bhim Singh has assured the student representatives from all groups and units of the student bodies that he shall provide them all genuine help and support from the streets to the Supreme Court of India to ensure that all the colleges in Jammu Pradesh are provided with genuine facilities and equipment to promote education, supports and social activities for the students of Jammu Pradesh at par with the students in the rest of the country.
