The Panthers Party was founded by Prof.Bhim Singh with the help, cooperation and active participation of several senior leaders, mostly from the Congress party in 1982. Prof.Bhim Singh resigned his seat in the Assembly (MLA) and founded the Panthers Party. The first meeting was held at Udhampur under the leadership of Udhampur District Congress President, Shri Thakur Das Chanotra who resigned from the Congress and joined Panthers Party with hundreds of his followers. Some of the senior intellectuals and noted jurists and political activists including Shri Ghulam Nabi Goni, Sr. Advocate, Shri Thakur Das Chanotra, Shri Abdul Amir Qazi, Shri Bansi Lal Sharma, Choudhary Mohd. Iqbal along with student leaders Sardar Amrik Singh, S. Daljit Singh, Ms. Anita Thakur and others took the oath to organize the Panthers Party to seek justice, equity and equality for every citizen of India residing in J&K.

The Panhers Party had taken an oath to mobilize national opinion for amendment in Article 370 of the Indian Constitution to remove discrimination with the people of J&K and ensure that every permanent resident of J&K is treated as a citizen of India by guarantying him full fundamental and basic rights.

The Panthers Party passed through most difficult stages, crossed volcanized roads in J&K seeking Union of J&K with full integration as was dreamt by Maharaja Hari Singh and the people of J&K who acceded to the Union of India for seeking equal treatment and equality under the legal system. Prof.Bhim Singh has maintained that the Panthers Party is an only voice of the people of J&K which seek equality for the people of J&K as is provided to every citizen of India.

Prof.Bhim Singh with his senior party activists and the leadership shall be travelling from Jammu to Rajouri with a message to the people of all shades particularly the youth that justice is our basic and fundamental right.           The Panthers Party team led by Prof.Bhim Singh shall address several Panthers Party meetings inviting the people to the rally organized in Jammu on 33rd Foundation Day. Prof.Bhim Singh shall finally cross over to Kathua District via Udhampur and address people rallies at Billawar, Basohli, Bani and at District Headquarters Kathua. Prof.Bhim Singh shall return to the historic Dogra city capital of Jammu Pradesh on 20th March, 2016 after completing parikarima around Jammu Pradesh with his elite colleagues and the future hope of the people of J&K. Prof.Bhim Singh says that his mission in J&K is to establish a confederal state with twin states mission namely, Kashmir Valley and Jammu Pradesh so that justice is delivered to every citizen of India residing in Kashmir Valley, Jammu Pradesh. He strongly supports the Ladakhies movement for granting them autonomy within the meaning and scope of the Constitution of India.

Prof.Bhim Singh this evening while talking to the media persons at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi the national headquarter (in exile) of the Panthers Party in New Delhi declaring that the people of Ladakh, Kashmir Valley and Jammu Pradesh shall get justice only after the reorganization of the state which will bring an end to all forms of exploitation from the so-called national and regional parties which have been blackmailing the people of J&K for their own political gains and benefits.

Prof.Bhim Singh appealed the people of India to understand the real socio-political situation which the people of Ladakh, Kashmir Valley and Jammu Pradesh have been facing at the hands of blood sucking leaders for nearly 70 years. He said that Panthers Party has survived for 33 years and it shall survive till the people of all the three regions are guaranteed fundamental rights, civil liberties and all other benefits at par with the citizens of India. That is possible only through amendment in Article 370. The J&K had to be recognised as a confederation by giving equal social-political-economic privileges to all the three regions which need to be recognized as separate states. Let there be a confederation of J&K and with full fundamental rights which have been enjoyed by every citizen of India except in J&K.
