picture-demo 101    Addressing the gathering Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that JKNPP shall continue with its peaceful protests and agitations till AIIMS was restored to Jammu through a formal order issued by the authorities concerned. He said that while the Panthers Party would not question the wisdom of ACC (Coordination Committee on AIIMS) which comprised of intellectuals, educations and other prominent notables in calling off the 72 hour Jammu Bandh and in suspending the agitation on the assurance of Dy. Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, the JKNPP did not trust the saffron party which has repeatedly taken U-turns on all its fundamentals only to remain glued to power. He said that it was the same Dy. Chief Minister who had made a statement last month carried in various newspapers that nobody can snatch AIIMS from Kashmir. Which of the two statements of the Dy. Chief Minister in such circumstances should be relied upon, asked Mr. Singh adding that JKNPP would continue its fight for Jammu and had therefore organized a massive march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament House to create awareness at the national level regarding the bias perpetuated against Jammu region by the present dispensation of BJP-PDP in J&K state. He said that it was not merely a matter of AIIMS for Jammu but the larger question of the self respect and pride of Jammu people. He said that it was highly distressing that Jammu people were always treated as B-class citizens as against highly pampered and mollycoddled Kashmir region. He regretted that people of Jammu region had to agitate and take to streets even for the basic amenities despite having elected representatives to espouse their cause. Lambasting the BJP for its demagoguery and unprincipled politics, Mr. Singh said that by gifting AIIMS to Kashmir the BJP had indulged in the most treacherous bargain only to play a second fiddle to the PDP government. Mr. Singh said that people of Jammu would no longer reconcile to their second class categorization by a highly biased and prejudiced Kashmir centric leadership. He said that the JKNPP had decided to take the fight for Jammu to every nook and corner of the state besides agitating the persistent neglect of the region in front of the Parliament in New Delhi.
Lambasting the BJP for submitting to the whims of its coalition partner, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said the saffron party had completely disillusioned the people of Jammu region and earned their wrath for succumbing on all the issues with the public outrage having reached its crescendo. He said that announcement for establishment of AIIMS at Jammu was made by two Union Ministers on 28th February, 2015 at New Delhi and therefore BJP’s offering it to PDP on a platter merely for the crumbs of power was the biggest betrayal with the people of Jammu region. Warning the BJP to desist from its lame duck posturing, Mr. Singh said that JKNPP would not relent till AIIMS was restored to Jammu through a formal order on the subject.
Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, State President vowed to continue the protests against the shameless surrender of the BJP on all its pre-poll promises including AIIMS issue. He said that Jammu region has a very fragile tertiary health care system and divesting this region of AIIMS would be greatest injustice. He said that Kashmir already has one SKIMS in Soura which offers specialized treatment facilities with Chief Minister already having announced Rs.150 crores additionality for its upgradation. But Jammu region continued to be ignored and deprived in the BJP partnered government and despite the tall claims and loud pronouncements being made by the saffron party merely to hoodwink the people of Jammu region, he added.
Mr. Mankotia further sought early creation of infrastructure & operationalization of medical colleges in Kathua, Doda, Rajouri besides establishment of a new medical college at Udhampur. He further sought allocation of adequate funds for the already sanctioned cancer institute at Udhampur.
Mr. Yashpal Kundal ridiculed the cowardly surrender of BJP on Dogra Certificate, grant of State Subject rights to West Pakistan Refugees and conferment of voting rights upon them. Mr. Kundal while demanding AIIMS for Jammu further called for holding an early delimitation of Assembly constituencies so as to ensure equitable share to all the regions of the state on political as well as economic basis. He further demanded relief for victims of natural calamities besides adequate compensation to Jammu Migrants. He regretted the non-release of ex-gratia in favour of Dogra martyrs who lost their lives in the deadly terrorist attack recently in Manipur.
Mr. Rajiv Jolly Khosla assured full support of Delhi Unit of Panthers Party in resolving the issues of J&K and in ensuring justice to Jammu region including its socio-political empowerment.

There are two states, Jammu Pradesh & Kashmir Valley Jammu Pradesh shall not be enslaved forever

“Jammu and Kashmir was a heterogeneous union of different regions under the Treaty of Amritsar, 1846. This was a compulsion for the benefit of the people of all the regions at that time but the situation changed in 1947 after J&K acceded to the Union of India. J&K should have been merged into the Union in 1950 itself which was unforgivable blunder committed by the Constituent Assembly. However, reorganization of the entire country should have taken J&K on board.” This communication was sent by Prof.Bhim Singh, founder of the Panthers Party and expert on J&K affairs this morning while taking to hundreds of Panthers Party activists in Delhi who gathered at Jantar Mantar in support of AIIMS in Jammu as a matter of right.

The NPP Supremo said that it was the leadership of Jan Sangh that converted into Janata Party and reconverted to Bharatiya Janata Party which continued betraying the people of Jammu Pradesh in the name of Hindutva to serve their petty, personal and financial benefits from the Kashmiri rulers right from day one. They sacrificed the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and when came to power did not mention even his name. They inducted the grandson of Sheikh Abdullah into the Central cabinet instead of putting inquiry commission leading to the martyrdom of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in 1943 in Kashmir jail. NPP Supremo said that these leaders in the name of Praja Parishad betrayed the people of Dogra Pradesh and sold out the entire party and his movement to the Kashmiri rulers.

1.             It was this leadership which had 17 MLAs in 1977 in the Assembly where Sheikh Abdullah was the Chief Minister. Prof.Bhim Singh the then Congress MLA was expelled from the Assembly with the support of Janata and Congress and thrown out of the Assembly by force.

2.             It was the then the same leadership which opposed the movement launched by the people of Jammu under the leadership of Prof.Bhim Singh in 1978 which was betrayed by the same leadership of the Congress and BJP. Hundreds of youth, students, women were put in jail they were demanding jobs to the unemployed youth in Poonch who were not allowed to sit in interview even. The people were demanding Ayurvedic College in Jammu. The students were killed in Poonch and Jammu, Prof.Bhim Singh and all his colleagues were put in Kashmir and Jammu jails. An action committee under the leadership of BJP (Janata) was flouted with the blessing of Sheikh Abdullah and support of the Congress MLAs which signed Agreement with Sheikh Abdullah’s government and withdrew the most affected movement while the real movement launches were jails.

3.             The BJP (created in 1982) supported Congress and NC to flout Bill No.9 (Resettlement Act) enabling nearly five lac Pakistanis to return to Jammu Pradesh and claim all their properties they had left voluntarily in 1947. Prof.Bhim Singh was betrayed by the BJP legislators and leaders who sold the movement to Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah while Bhim Singh as a Congress MLA was poisoned in Srinagar Jail where Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was killed. The BJP in J&K betrayed the people and sold out the movement to the Congress and NC. Panthers Party has been fighting against Resettlement Act in the Supreme Court till today which was stayed by the Supreme Court on the writ petition by the NPP. Congress, NC and BJP have been opposing this case when they remained in power.

4.             The BJP leaders sold out the entire movement of the people of Jammu in 2006/07 to the Kashmiri rulers and withdrew a great movement launched by the people of Jammu for the redemption of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board Land in Baltal (Kashmir). The BJP leaders signed midnight deal to sell out the movement while Panthers Party leaders were languishing in jails.

5.             The latest sell out was in 2015 when the BJP got 26 MLAs from Jammu, mostly from RSS background with promises which were later bargained and sold out to the Kashmiri leaders for the sake of power, money, political and financial benefits of the BJP legislators and their families. The latest example is AIIMS. AIIMS was declared to set up in Jammu Pradesh in 2003 when BJP in power in the Centre under Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Prime Minister. The BJP sold this to the Kashmiri leaders and dared not set up AIIMS in Jammu.

6.             The people of Jammu were again misled when BJP government in J&K serving under Kashmiri leaders flouted a so-called Coordination Committee minus political parties. The NPP initiated the movement by giving a bandh call with the participation of all political parties and social organizations which was observed by the entire people of Jammu on 27th May, 2015. This shook the roots of BJP leadership in Jammu and they flouted so-called Coordination Committee. While Panthers Party activists and almost its entire leadership was sitting in Jantar Mantar, New Delhi in support of the people’s demand for AIIMS in Jammu, the BJP leaders managed their own ploys on the so-called dharna and again cheated and betrayed the people of Jammu.

Prof.Bhim Singh has appealed to the new generation who are not aware of the treacherous past and continued betrayals of the BJP leadership against the people of Jammu to take up the movement as its mission, AIIMS first, delimitation next and reorganization of the state as final. When I founded JKNPP in 1982 after resigning Congress MLA ship and the party I was clear in my mind that I shall give the new movement to the coming generations in Jammu who shall save the people of Jammu rather liberate the people of Jammu Pradesh (Dogra Pahari Pradesh) from the ruthless and hostile rulers. I call on all of you, students, youth, working class, intelligentsia, farmers, ex-servicemen, the members of the civil society to support the Panthers Party and its noble and holy cause of liberation, self-respect, human dignity and equality. He also congratulate the new leadership of the Panthers Party which have taken this challenge and have started Mahabharata from the streets of Jammu to the streets of New Delhi, Indian capital.
