The Vice President of India Mr. Mohd. Hamid Ansari released a book entitled “Unbelievable – Delhi to Islamabad’ written by senior Advocate Prof. Bhim Singh at a function on May 8.

The Vice President said that this travelogue by Professor Bhim Singh is unique and should be read by all. He congratulated the author for bringing out such a valuable Book.

The book is an effort initiated by the lawyers of India and Pakistan to work jointly to ensure that the Pakistani prisoners languishing in Indian jails are treated in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution of India. Similarly, ensures that Indian prisoners in Pakistan are not denied fair trials.

Prof Bhim Singh has been fighting free cases of all Pak, POK and foreign prisoners in India legal Aid committee headed by him at his own cost and got more than 600 pakistani released through the intervention of the supreme court. He calls Art 21 of the Indian constitution as most powerful weapon for the protection of human rights. Prof Bhim Singh was invited by Lawyers Congres Lahor and Honoured by the Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association in Lahor and Islamabad.

JKNPP accused administration for the bus accident in Chenani Tehsil

The panther Party in a resolution expressed deep shock on the tragic death of more than 20 persons near Chenani in a bus accident where several local passengers were injured. The party in its condolence message expressed sympathy with the families of the persons died in accident.

 

Prof. Bhim Singh in his message condemned the district administration and the state government for this tragic accident for the reason that the old and outdated transport service needed fresh vehicles and trained drivers and not the out of dates and out of service transport buses.  It is, corrupt practice, which is the responsible for the accident and death of innocent persons.

 

Prof. Bhim Singh in his communication to Shri N.N Vohra, the Governor of J&K has demanded immediate intervention for the payment of compensation to the families of those killed to the tune of Rs. 50 lacs each.  He also demanded all hospitals charges from the government and Rs. 10 lacs each to the injured person.  He demanded a judicial enquiry for the cause/causes of such accident in the state. He attributed such accident to the negligence of the state administration and Transport Corporation.

State legal Aid Committee express condolences on demise of Shri Altaf Hussein, Sr. adv.

A  meeting of the State Legal Aid Committee was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Bhim Singh which expressed shock and grief on the sad, unfortunate, unexpected demise of former solicitor –general and senior advocate of Supreme Court passed away yesterday in Delhi.  Prof. Bhim Singh in his condolence message to Altaf Hussein’s family said, “Shri Altaf Hussein was a great friend, human rights activist, a kind hearted person who devoted much of his time in serving and giving free legal aid to the needy and the poor particularly to the depressed people of Kashmir.  In his death, I have lost a great and trusted friend whereas the people of J&K have lost a great champion of freedom and human rights”.  The state legal Aid Committee, Panthers Party and friends in a condolence message expressing sympathy with the family of the deceased prayed for peace in the heavens for the departed soul.
