NPP Supremo urged Sonia Gandhi to sack Ghulam Nabi from Congress to save its face

Prof. Bhim Singh, a veteran nationalist leader and the founder of National Panthers Party today urged Mrs. Sonia Gandhi to fire opportunist leaders from the Party who dare sell the Congress name, principles, ideology just for a vote for the Rajya Sabha. Strongly objecting to an apology letter by Mr. Ghulam Nabi submitted to a Kashmiri MLA on Afzal Guru’s episode, he said that Mr. Ghulam Nabi was a Cabinet Minister in the Union Govt. when Afzal Guru was hanged. “If there were something immoral, wrong or illegal or unconstitutional in it, he should have resigned or even protested.” On the eve of Rajya Sabha election, a senior Congressman and leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha submitted an apology letter to an MLA (known secessionist activist and anti-national element in J&K) on Afzal Guru episode who was held guilty by the Apex Court. Second blunder, the Former Minister did was that he submitted an apology letter to a non-entity (besides an underhand deal) which he should have submitted to his President, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. Was an MLA known to be anti-national, superior to the party President? He asked.
Glorifying Afzal Guru in his repentance letter by taking signatures of 5 Congress MLAs (his group) in his mercy petition submitted to one Rashid MLA just for the sake of a vote is a treturous act that should not be taken light by the Congress President for the sake of the party and its integrity, Bhim Singh wrote to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi to draw her attention to the serious situation that he arisen in political circles?
He wrote to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi that she should act fast and act strong to save the party from further erosion.

SC’s notice to UOI on SSB volunteers petition

A division bench of the Supreme Court of India comprising JJ Mr. Kurian Joseph and Mr. Justice N.V. Ramana today issued two weeks’ notice to the government of India on a writ petition of SSB volunteers seeking absorption in the government jobs as per direction of several High Courts including Gauhati High Court, Himachal Pradesh High Court, Punjab & Haryana High Court.

Prof.Bhim Singh, Sr. Advocate who appeared for about 30,000 SSB volunteers submitted in the court that SSB volunteers were enrolled following Chinese aggression and later they were enrolled in different border states for the defense of the local people as well as for providing intelligence feedback to the security forces on the anti-national activities of some disgruntled elements and foreign militants. Prof.Bhim Singh in his submission submitted that the Gauhati High Court at Imphal had directed the respondents to regularize the services of similarly situated VVF volunteers in 2000. The government of Manipur absorbed them whereas other states including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Assam have not implemented the schemes. He said that the Supreme Court had already refused to interfere with the order/judgment of the Gauhati High Court. The matter is still pending with the Finance Ministry of Govt. of India.

Prof.Bhim Singh also referred to a letter written by the Union Home Secretary in 2014 asking the Govt. of J&K and other states to absorb SSB volunteers in their respective states in appropriate disciplines/jobs. He said that no state implemented this direction of the Union of India except Manipur.

The Supreme Court issued two weeks’ notice to the Union of India. Prof.Bhim Singh said that a fresh application shall be filed in the Supreme Court now for the interim relief for the suffering SSB volunteers so that they may get some kind of relief for their physical survival.
