NPP Supremo calls on CEC, demands dismantling of Gujarat EVMs for J&K

Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party & Member of National Integration Council called on Shri V.S. Sampath, the Chief Election Commissioner of India at Nirvachan Sadan, New Delhi and presented a protest letter demanding scrapping of the use of the EVMs for J&K Assembly polls in 2014. The NPP Supremo told the CEC that the electorates in J&K has every reason to believe that EVMs being imported from Gujarat shall be manipulated and misused by the Prime Minister who himself hails from Gujarat. Prof.Bhim Singh argued with the CEC that use of EVMs has been scrapped in several European countries including in some states of the USA, Germany and other countries because the EVMs were found defective and manipulative.
Mr. V.S. Sampath, the CEC defended the decision of the Election Commission of India in importing 15000 EVMs from Gujarat emphasizing that there are two EVM manufacturing companies in India and none of them is based in Gujarat and these EVMs have been made by those companies. He, however, assured Prof.Bhim Singh that the Election Commission of India will reply to the queries raised by the Prof.Bhim Singh. Prof.Bhim Singh in his letter has questioned;
a).    Why Gujarat manufacturers have been chosen for this purpose and that too for J&K which has a history of rigging elections and manipulation of EVMs? 15000 EVMs are being utilized for nearly 10,000 polling stations. 5000 extra EVMs could be utilized to manipulate the entire election.
b).    Who are these manufacturers/exporters of EVMs from Gujarat to J&K?
c).    Are the services of these Gujarat manufacturers are being utilized in other states like Maharashtra, Haryana and other during the forthcoming Assembly elections?
d).    Were these particular Gujarat manufacturers of EVMs were chosen/selected by a unilateral decision without inviting tenders as has been the policy to avoid corrupt practice?
e).    What is the guarantee that Gujarat EVMs shall not be misused or manipulated to rig polls to accomplish the dream of the Prime Minister to secure 44 + Assembly seats in J&K, knowing well that J&K has no appeal to the voters?

Mr. V.S. Sampath also assured Prof.Bhim Singh to consider his request for holding a Round Table Conference of the representatives of all the recognized political parties operating in J&K to remove the misgivings and rebuild confidence and faith in the Indian democracy.

‘No talks’ shows bankruptcy in think tank of South Block. Need for pragmatic approach

Reacting sharply on the unilateral decision of Modi-led government in New Delhi to cancel foreign secretarial level talks between India and Pakistan, Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party, Member of National Integration Council & Sr. Advocate of Supreme Court of India expressed shock on the total bankruptcy shown by the think tank in the South Block (Prime Ministerial Office) in taking such a hasty decision. The NPP Supremo said that the meeting of the so-called Kashmiri separatist leader could have been put a stop within the scope of the legal mechanism. He said that the Hurriyat leaders in Srinagar are occasionally rather frequently detailed inside their houses even on the Fridays to stop them from attending religious congregations in Kashmir. Why the government allowed them to attend official meeting with the High Commissioner of Pakistan in New Delhi if such a meeting was not in the interest of the security of the state.

Prof.Bhim Singh questioned Prime Minister Modi’s hidden designs to highlight such an unimportant issue to exploit the innocent minds diverting them from the real issues and problems created by the presence of hostile provisions in Article 370 in the Constitution of India. Prof.Bhim Singh questioned the Prime Minister why Article 370 is not amended so as to empower the Parliament to legislate, at least, in respect of subjects mentioned in the Union List (Central List) of Schedule-VII of the Constitution. He said that it is Article 370 which is responsible for several problems on the way of national integration and that’s why it needs amendment so that the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of India are extended to J&K as well.

He described the decision of the government to cancel the talks with Pakistan as highly undiplomatic, unnecessary which lacks courage and wisdom to continue confidence building measures with our neighbourers so that the problems could be settled amicably and peacefully. He said J&K is no problem except Article 370 and illegal occupation of 32,000 sq. miles of our territory by Pakistan and 20,000 sq. miles of our territory by China. He preferred a referendum in Gilgit-Baltistan (our territory which has been annexed by Pakistan since 2009 as Pakistan’s fifth province) whether the people in POK or Gilgit would like to continue their future with Pakistan. That is peaceful solution which both India and Pakistan should respect.

Prof.Bhim Singh cautioned the Govt. of India about the CIA latent operations to dislodge Nawaz Sharief government which has not been digested by the White House in Washington. Indian leadership should understand that Nawaz Sharief has been friendly with India and his ouster shall not be in the interest either of India or Pakistan.

Utterly Disappointing, Modi ji

Prof. Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of NPP and Member-NIC in a rejoinder to Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed that his (Modi) maiden speech from Red Fort he made on the Independence Day was highly disappointing not for his critics but for his well-wishers as well. He reminded Shri Modi about the speech that Pakistan Prime Minister made on 14th August on Pak Independence Day on J&K and wanted to know why Indian Prime Minister could not tell Pakistan to read the resolution of Indian Parliament it carried unanimously in 1994 that J&K is integral part of India.
He wondered on the silence of Prime Minister Modi on the India’s foreign policy of peaceful coexistence, non-alignment and complete disarmament which India has been advocating ever since it’s Independence.
Prof. Bhim asked Modi ji why he omitted to mention India’s role in BRICS where he participated recently in Brazil. Why he let go India’s concern on the situation created by the vested interests in the Middle-East particularly in Palestine, Iraq and Libya. He could have appealed for peace and no war. He failed to mention about our growing relationship with Latin Countries and South East. Both are very important neighbours for India. Ignoring Russia from the list of friend in his speech cannot be justified. The Prime Minister of the largest democracy of the world forgot about the role and India’s support to the African world.
What measures the Govt. shall be taking to curb corruption and price rise the Prime Minister omitted that chapter too.
NPP Supremo said that Shri Modi has failed to carry the day for which one billion Indians in India and the people abroad were waiting.

When the people in J&K shall hoist tri-colour in their own right–Questions Bhim Singh

Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party, Member of National Integration Council & Sr. Advocate of Supreme Court of India post a direct question to the echelons of power in the New Delhi as to how long shall the people of J&K wait to hoist tri-colour flag in J&K in their own right. Prof.Bhim Singh said that the nation has been kept in dark about the discriminatory attitude of the Parliament vis-à-vis J&K which has not extended the jurisdiction of Constitution of India to J&K though the state was integrated fully with the Union of India in 1947. Prof.Bhim Singh accused the successive ruling parties of the country to mislead the nation about the truth regarding State-Centre relations so far as J&K is concerned.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that entire nation is celebrating India’s Independence Day on 15th August by hoisting the nation flag. In J&K we have a separate Constitution and a separate Flag and the Parliament has kept sleeping for 64 years.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that the problems in J&K can only be resolved the day Parliament of India empowers itself to legislate on the subjects in List-I of Schedule-VII and national flag hoist on every roof.
