Bhim Singh interacts with Sardar Qayyum Khan, Ammanullah Khan & others but denied entry to POK

Prof.Bhim Singh, Supremo of National Panthers Party and Member of National Integration Council who is on a goodwill visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Lawyers Congress, Lahore has met several notables of POK and Gilgit during his stay in Lahore & Islamabad late last evening. Prof.Bhim Singh was received by Ammanullah Khan, leader of JKLF and discussed the situation prevailing on the two sides of J&K for over an hour. Prof.Bhim Singh had visited Brussels High Court to plead Ammanullah Khan’s case in 1992 when he was arrested on the inter pole warrants issued on the complaint of India. Prof.Bhim Singh succeeded in persuading the then Prime Minister of India, Shri Narasimha Rao to drop the case against Ammanullah Khan and not press for his repatriation to India. Shri Narasimha Rao deputed Prof.Bhim Singh to see Ammanullah Khan in jail in Brussels. Prof.Bhim Singh was only pioneer to meet Ammanullah Khan, then most controversial Kashmiri militant jailed in Brussels. Ammanullah Khan has been interacting with the Panthers Party Chief for decades. Prof.Bhim Singh also invited Ammanullah Khan to India to participate in the ‘Heart to Heart’ Talk to be held in October in this year. Mr. Ammanullah Khan admits that guns or violence is no solution to resolve J&K issues now. He told Prof.Bhim Singh that he is prepared to work with him for peaceful resolution with dignity for the people of J&K.

Prof.Bhim Singh also called on the octogenarian and highly decorated leader of POK this morning and invited him for ‘Heart to Heart’ Talk in Delhi and Jammu. Sardar Qayyum Khan agreed to visit J&K provided he is allowed to visit without any visa or passport. Prof.Bhim Singh assured Sardar Qayyum Khan that his wish shall be honoured. He told Sardar Qayyum Khan that India’s foreign policy to build confidence among the people of India and Pakistan shall remain unchanged. He said that the Govt. of India has granted permission to hold ‘Heart to Heart’ Talks in Delhi. The 1st ‘Heart to Heart’ Talk was held in 2005 and 2nd was held in 2007 whereas 3rd ‘Heart to Heart’ Talk could not be organized for the reason that Osama Bin Laden episode in Islamabad took place at midnight on the eve of the conference.

Prof.Bhim Singh during his 9-day stay in Pakistan could not visit Mirpur, Kotli or Muzaffrabad because the fatal government of Pakistan refused his entry to any area of POK in spite of the invitation from the Lawyers Association of Mirpur, Kotli and Muzaffrabad.

In the meantime, Prof.Bhim Singh has expressed condolences on tragic and sad demise of Shri Gopinath Munde, Union Minister for Urban Development.
