NPP candidate from Udhampur Lok Sabha

Prof.Bhim Singh had 30 minutes meeting with Shri V.S. Sampath, Chief Election Commissioner of India late last evening. The NPP Supremo brought to the notice of the CEC about the misuse of government machinery and officials in the electoral process in J&K. He informed the CEC that both the Congress and BJP are violating the basic Code of Conduct as well as interfering with the electoral process. He said that entire highway from Jammu to Poonch and Banihal to Udhampur have been decorated by the banners, flags and election flags by both the parties in Jammu Pradesh where election shall be held on 10th April and 17th April, 2014 respectively.

Prof.Bhim Singh said that several district election officers and AROs in Jammu and Udhampur parliamentary constituencies are closely related with the ministers of the ruling parties. He demanded their removal from the election works. Prof.Bhim Singh also lodged a protest with the CEC on the conduct of Reasi District Election Officer who got a vehicle seized in Pauni (Reasi District) only because the Panthers Party functionary was travelling in it to attend a Panthers Party rally in Pauni.

Prof.Bhim Singh urged CEC to ensure that the polls are not rigged as the Congress and NC had done in 1988 to rig his election and declared him defeated though he had won the election by 32,000 votes. Besides out of 15 Assembly segments Prof.Bhim Singh as Panthers Party candidate had won in 13 Assembly segments. He got the judgment of the High Court of J&K signed by Justice Mr. K.K. Gupta in his favour but the day judgment came that Lok Sabha (10th) stood dissolved.
