NPP’s Border Defence Committee interacts with Border residents in Samba/Hiranagar

High-ranking Committee of National Panthers Party led by Prof. Bhim Singh its Chief Patron visited the residents of International Border with Pakistan in Samba and Hiranagar sectors today. Senior party leaders included Shri Harsh Dev Singh, MLA, Chairman-JKNPP, MLA Shri Yashpaul Kundal (Samba), General Secretary & President of Border Defence Committee, Shri Faqir Nath, ex-MLA, Provincial President & Convenor of Border Defence Committee besides Ms. Anita Thakur, General Secretary, S. Daljit Singh, Vice President, Shiv Charan Singh, District Samba President, ZEO, Shri Arun Khajuria, Distt. General Secretary formed part of the team. This meeting was arranged/organized by Border Defence Committee covering LoC & International Border with Pakistan.

The committee also visited the houses which were bombarded in Pak-shelling last week. The local residents have been facing terrible situation and living under the shadow of death because of Pakistan shelling in the area. The main problem the border people have been facing is because of the fencing on the agricultural land of the farmers since 1971 leaving the farmers without job and income. Prof. Bhim Singh assured the farmers that a detailed report on the situation along the border shall be submitted to the Prime Minister next week. He assured the farmers that they shall be paid compensation for the land the government has occupied for the decades. He also assured that he shall knock the doors of the Supreme Court in case the Govt. of India denies them justice. He also demanded RBA status to the residents within the range of 10 kms. as has been provided to the residents living along LoC.
