Addressing a press conference at Panthers Party Hqs. at Jammu after the completion of 2nd day of study tour, Prof. Bhim Singh expressed shock that the Govt. of India has intentionally ignored the legitimate and genuine demands of the residents of the border areas. He said 38,000 sq. kms. of agriculture land in Khour, Jourian, Palanwala, Pargwal etc. has been under the illegal occupation of Govt. of India since 1971 where mines were planted for defence purposes. This is tragedy that the farmers have not been paid a single penny of compensation of their land nor even minimum rent. Many residents of the border areas complained that the people were injured in the mines blasts but never paid any compensation. The local residents born after 1997 have not been issued ration cards for mala fide reasons.  BPL cards were distributed to the favourites only. The farmers have not been allowed to harvest their crop on the border beyond the cordoned line.
The team shall visit R.S. Pura, Suchetgarh, Sai, Bishnah, Nandpur, Ramgarh, Nanga, Vijaypur etc. on 7th November, 2013.  On 8th   November 2013 the team shall visit Samba and Hiranagar border areas and attend JKNPP conclave at Kathua at 4.00 p.m.
Prof. Bhim Singh said that this study tour shall prepare a strong note for the attention of the Prime Minister of India for the safety and protection of the residents living along the International border and LOC.
