Delhi Panthers activists pay tributes to the Jammu Student Martyrs of 1966

Several activists of Delhi Pradesh National Panthers Party convened a meeting to pay tributes to the 1966 Jammu Student Martyrs who were killed by police inside Jammu College during a students’ movement led by the then Chief of Students Congress, Bhim Singh.

The Panthers activists also lit candles in the memory of four student martyrs, 1966 namely, Gulshan Handa, Brij Mohan, Subhash Chandra & S. Gurcharan Singh. Three student leaders were shot inside GGM Science College, Jammu on 17th October, 1966 whereas S. Gurcharan Singh was killed by SSP Jammu in the streets of Jammu City on 18th October, 1966.

Prof. Bhim Singh, the Chief Patron of NPP paid tributes to the student martyrs on 17th October, 2013 at the Student Martyrs Site in front of GGM Science College, Jammu whereas he joined the Panthers Party activists in Delhi on 18th October, 2013 to pay tributes to the student martyrs.

Addressing the Panthers Party activists, Prof. Bhim Singh accused the successive governments of J&K for the authoritarian rule and for the murders and killings of the innocent youth and students’ right since 1947. He said that as long as there is no popular government in J&K elected democratically, there shall be no peace and the blood of the innocent people particularly youth and students shall be flooding the streets of J&K. He said that NC-Congress Govt. in J&K are guilty of genocide and killing of youth in J&K. He said that J&K has been governed by the most corrupt, communal, authoritarian and corrupt rulers who have been getting shelter from the Central leadership.

Those who also addressed the memorial meeting to pay tributes to the Jammu Student Martyrs of 1966 included M/s. B.S. Sajan, National Secretary, Rajiv Jolly Khosla, Working President, Romesh Khajuria, R.P. Sharma, Ajay Kumar, Ajit Singh, Sukhvinder Singh Siddhu, Dildar Hussain Beigh, Imran, Irshad Qureshi, Vijay, Sunita Choudhary, Raj Rani, Sushil Khanna, Kali Ram Tomar, Bhawani Maharaj and others.
