Panthers Supremo, Prof. Bhim Singh who is also Member of National Integration Council met Kashmiri leaders opposite polls in the Valley during his three-day stay. Prof. Bhim Singh met Mirwais Moulvi Umar Farooq, Chairman of the Hurriyat Conference for an hour at his Nagin residence. He had hundred minutes meeting with him. Prof. Bhim Singh also met Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) at his residence where he has been under house arrest for several days. Prof. Bhim Singh during his one to one meeting discussed several issues confronting the people of J&K. Prof. Bhim Singh also met PDP Chief Patron, Mufti Mohd. Sayeed.
Prof. Bhim Singh also received Panthers Party leader of Bandipora, Mohd. Iqbal Jan on his release from Central Jail, Srinagar late last evening. Iqbal Jan District President of Bandipora was acquitted by Delhi High Court who was sentence to life imprisonment. He spent seven years in Tihar Jail, Delhi. Prof. Bhim Singh had argued his case before Delhi High Court.
Prof. Bhim Singh also met several other angry Kashmiri leaders with a message that the election result in Pakistan should open their mind and accept the reality of political scenario. Prof. Bhim Singh said that his meeting with Kashmiri leaders of the opposite polls was highly useful as the combinations and the permutations in the sub-continent have undergone a sea-change on the ground and it is right time for angry Kashmiri leadership to respond to the needs of the people in the Valley by putting up a joint front in the Valley and jumping into the electoral battle in case they seriously desire to seek equity and justice for them.
Prof. Bhim Singh also called on Shri N.N. Vohra, the Governor of J&K with Panthers Party delegation and sought his intervention for the release of all political prisoners detained under PSA and speedy trial of all prisoners. Prof. Bhim Singh said that calling residence of POK via Banihal is not only illegal but dangerous for the security of the state as no foreigner can be allowed to enter J&K via Nepal. A writ petition in this regard filed by the Panthers Party is also pending before the Supreme Court of India challenging the state policy to import foreigners into India via Nepal.
Prof. Bhim Singh said that his meeting with angry leadership of Kashmir was highly encouraging to ensure return of peace. He said that Reorganization of J&K by providing financial, administrative and legislative powers to each region is inevitable and the only way out to resolve political uncertainly in the state.
